Producer. Grant Writer. Disability Access Consultant & Access Support Worker.
Katy is a graduate, Churchill Fellow and Producer with 10+ years’ experience in her craft and has worked on projects with an national and international remit. Katy has worked in theatre, film, on community projects and with companies based abroad. After achieving a fellowship in theatre fundraising, Katy is working towards becoming an accredited Disability Access Consultant after completing training with an organisation who are world leaders in access & inclusion (CAE); whilst also working as a Access Support Worker.
Katy has worked in producing teams on projects with the Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Watford Palace, nabokov Theatre Company and with Roundhouse Resident Artists. Alongside lead producing an R&D of a musical as a part of the Barbican open lab programme, she has also presented shows at Latitude Festival and Camden Roundhouse. At present Katy is working at Cast (theatre in Doncaster) on a part-time basis as their Associate Producer, leading on the strategy and delivery of talent development work as well as being a member of the programming team and fundraising. She has collaborated with an Oscar nominated Director, Olivier winning artists and worked in a producing team on an Olivier nominated show (The Government Inspector [2016]).
Katy is passionate about producing work that is entertaining and accessible to as wider audience as possible, both in terms of disability and popular tastes; whilst maintaining her dedication to diverse representation on stage and within creative teams. At present Katy has started a second research project in commercial income generation within theatre. Her passion has led her to work on the Ramps on the Moon initiative, to help address access barriers in national touring for performers and creatives with disabilities.
